Welcome to Class 3!

Class 3 is made up of Year 3 and Year 4 children. The children are mixed ability and work is differentiated to meet the children’s needs. We aim to use a variety of teaching styles, teaching methods and resources, in order to deliver the curriculum and to meet the differing learning needs of the children.

The children are taught all the subjects in the Key Stage Two curriculum and the work is planned over a two year cycle to avoid repetition and to develop a wide range of knowledge and skills. However, History is taught over a four year cycle, to cover all the necessary Key Stage Two topics. Wherever possible, we try to teach as much of the curriculum as possible through a cross-curricular approach, linking subjects with class topics.

Our main topics for this year, 2008 – 09, are World War Two, weather, the local area and the environment. Our Science topics are moving and growing, rocks and soils, circuits and conductors, friction, growing plants and light and shadow.
